The ISF specification helps standardize techniques for creating advanced compositions like audio visualizers. See the ISF Documentation for useful tips and examples. Visit the ISF sharing website to find new generators and effects that can be used directly in with jit.
Use the Max package manager to download the jit.

Install the free ISF Editor to get the standard collection of shaders. ISF for Jitter can be used out of the box with over generators, effects, and transitions. The ISF documentation pages include detailed walkthroughs of the specification along with useful reference notes and a quick start for learning the basics of GLSL. The specification includes conventions for working with multi-pass shaders with persistent frame buffers, allowing for the creation of complex compositions in a single easy to share file. With ISF, there is no need to convert or translate code when moving between software. Today we are extra excited to announce an open source collaboration with the team over at Cycling74creators of Max. Since then he has worked with some of the legends of electronic music, performed at some of the worlds most impressive venues, and continues to make mind blowing work. Once again we are fortunate to have an interview with one of the visualists who has been working in this field even longer than us.

Today we are excited to announce support in VDMX for a new project from Vade that is going to change the way you work with movie files using machine learning called Synopsis …. As part of creating amazing real-time video performance software, one of our biggest goals at VIDVOX is to help establish, develop and support the open standards that our apps run on. We also recently launched VV Edua set of lesson plans for teachers to use as a starting point for teaching live visuals and VJing in the classroom. Over the last few years our website tutorials section has served as the main outlet for our various lessons, demonstrations and conversations of the various techniques used for all aspects of live visual performance.

Once again we'll be running our special sale on VDMX for students and teachers heading back to school over the next couple of weeks with an extra USD off and we're even more excited to extend this same discount to ALL customers!Īlong with making great software for VJs and our related open source projects, one of the areas we have tried to focus on is creating educational materials to help visual artists at all levels help improve their craft. Today we are excited to announce the first major revision to the website, with a redesign to make it easier to find and create shaders. On a sort of related tangent, we've been looking into eGPU support recently and will have some notes about that in the near future. This week we are extra excited to have Sam back to tell us about more about his background as a live visual performance and show off his latest work for the infamous band Ladytron! Today we announced the new version of interactiveshaderformat. We are really hoping to see Apple really do a great job on whatever it is they are working on.ĥ.

The big issue on the hardware front for us is the Mac Pro and it was a huge letdown to have that pushed back to a 2019 release. Personally overall I think USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 is a big step forward, I love having 4 "anything" ports on my machine. USB-C has its pros and cons, as a video tech I've been carrying around a million dongles and weird hardware boxes since the analog days (not to mention having switched from ADB to USB-A and SCSI to Firewire.). Though the Touchbar MacBook Pros get a bad rap, they are actually quite nice machines with pretty powerful GPUs. We have started working on making some of our low level codebases x-platform it is unlikely that whatever comes after VDMX5 will be Mac only.Ĥ. The deprecation of OpenGL on Mac looming is part of this conversation.ģ. VDMX5, in its current form, won't be made for Windows.Ģ. A wonderful question and quite honestly a big topic of conversation here at VIDVOX these days.ġ.
